Classic French cheese sauce and potatoes, but way easier. Rather than spending valuable time making a cheese sauce, use our Aged White Cheese sauce made with Wisconsin aged cheeses. This Gratin Dauphinois is a great menu item for holiday meal kits.

INGREDIENTS

Ready Foods Aged White Cheese Sauce - #7601

Pie Dough

Potatoes, sliced thin

Herbs, Garlic Powder

Caramelized Onions

SERVING SUGGESTION 

Put the potatoes in a pot with the white cheese sauce and any herbs or garlic you are using. Heat until warmed through, the potatoes will thicken the sauce slightly as they cook, so watch closely, you may want to add water. Once potatoes are slightly tender, remove from heat and strain in a colander, reserving the cheese sauce. In a pan lined with parchment, layer half of he potatoes and ladle half of the cheese sauce, top with the caramelized onions. Top with the remaining potatoes and cheese sauce. Cover with parchment and bake until potatoes are cooked through. Once the bakes potatoes have cooled, freezer for an hour and wrap in pie dough. Brush with egg wash and bake again.
