Ready Foods Wins 2024 Water Innovation Spotlight Award

We are thrilled to announce that Ready Foods Inc. has been honored with the 2024 Water Innovation Spotlight Award. This recognition celebrates our outstanding progress and innovation in water conservation, a testament to the hard work and dedication of our maintenance team.

The Innovation Spotlights are awarded by the Colorado Green Business Network to organizations that have gone above and beyond in creating and implementing unique and innovative initiatives. These projects must make a measurable contribution in areas such as water, energy, waste, transportation, or community/equity.

Our award-winning project was spearheaded by Daniel Jones from our maintenance team. Daniel's efforts focused on improving the efficiency of our existing boiler system. Through meticulous work and innovative thinking, Daniel managed to streamline our operations, reducing the need for two boilers down to just one. This significant improvement has not only streamlined production and reduced downtime but also increased overall efficiency. Now that we can run on just one boiler, we have also decreased our risk of food waste. Previously, if a boiler went down, we did not have a back up and would have to halt cooking, which often led to wasted product.

The results of this project are remarkable. We have achieved a 7% decrease in natural gas usage, saving 20,100 therms annually. Additionally, we have seen a 20% decrease in water usage, leading to an annual savings of 2,047,800 gallons of water. These achievements underscore our commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.

We are incredibly proud of Daniel and the entire maintenance team for their dedication and ingenuity. This award is a testament to their hard work and our ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Stay tuned for more updates on our sustainability initiatives and how we continue to strive for excellence in all areas of our operations.
