In honor of our 50th anniversary, we're celebrating friends in the food industry who have also been around for a long time. Check out these culinary legends!

Valentino’s Restaurant - 1957

Valentino’s began in 1957 in Lincoln, Nebraska as a family-run fruit market. After realizing that other larger supermarkets were opening all around them, Val and Zena decided to use a family recipe and share their pizza with the world... lucky us! They now have over 35 locations and a loyal following of customers who love their pizza, pasta and commitment to the Huskers.

Sam’s No. 3 - 1927

Hailed as “Denver’s Best Diner”, Sam’s offers breakfast, lunch and dinner AND plenty of locally-loved Colorado green chile sauce. They estimate that they serve 300 gallons of green chile each day! Sam’s all started when Sam Armatas immigrated from Greece to the US and quickly went from New York to Illinois and then finally settled in Denver. Today, the multi-location restaurant is run by Sam’s son and grandsons.

They also have three Master Cheesemakers on their team!

Coming out of Prohibition, Charlie Brown’s was opened on the first floor of the Colburn Hotel. From pig roasts to live music, today they bring a great atmosphere to a classic menu. Fun fact, the bar is not named after anyone, the owners just liked the sound of it.

Since 1925, our Denver neighbor, Polidori Sausage, has been making high-quality sausages and more with simple ingredients that eaters love and trust. We are proud to use their sausage crumbles in our Sausage Gravy! They are known as the oldest sausage company in our state and are still family-owned and operated.
